"...a worn $20 bill looks as though it could be plucked out of the painting."* The words "hyper-realistic" and "photographic" often appear in articles about Robert P. Zerwekh. Zerwekh has appeared in numerous publications surrounding his artwork. This includes a feature in the August 1989 issue of American Artist, which named Zerwekh one of America's top 6 "emerging artists." That year, Zerwekh was also interviewed by KANU-FM, Lawrence's National Public Radio affiliate.
More recently, articles on Zerwekh revolved around his 60th birthday show, "Virtually Real," which took place in February of 1999."You have to touch the objects in Zerwekh's paintings to know they're not real"**
